We are often asked...

What kind of work do you take?

Mechanical design, design-for-manufacture, and durability engineering for physical products — hardware startups, product teams, exhibit and equipment manufacturers, and the people backing them. We take a selective number of engagements at a time, so each has a principal's direct attention.

What standards do you work to?

ASME Y14.5 for GD&T, AS9102 for first-article inspection, ISO 9001 for quality management, and MIL-STD-810G for environmental and durability testing. Where a client or sector requires a specific standard, we work to it.

When should we bring you in?

As early as the design decisions that are expensive to reverse. A change costs roughly 10× less at the CAD stage than after tooling is cut. That said, we're regularly brought in mid-program — a design misbehaving, a field failure, a production problem — and we're built for that too.

Who does the work?

The principal owns every engagement and the judgment behind it. Where a project needs depth beyond mechanical design, we bring in trusted collaborators and direct their contribution to the same standard — but mechanical design is the core, and it's what we're accountable for.

How do you price?

Fixed-rate for scoped engagements, or a retainer for ongoing design support. We define scope and deliverables in writing before work starts, so there are no surprises.
